Burlington Collision Center has been serving the Burlington and surrounding area for 20 years in the same location. We are a family orientated business working for insurance companies for the public and for dealers. We offer insurance collision, mechanical repairs, custom paint work, rust repair, rust proofing, windshield repairs, and headlight repairs. We provide free pick-up and delivery services for our customers. Free estimates for all customers. 24 hour towing services are also available.

COMPENSATION

$20.00-$35.00 (Estimated Range)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Prep Technician will have a vast knowledge of the proper procedures for repairing vehicles after a collision. They must have full knowledge of the prerequisites of damaged vehicle bodies & body parts. They will adhere to the collision centre’s quality specifications and time standards. They should also be equipped to carry out a range of repairs from minor dents to complete rebuilds.

Responsibilities include:

– Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely
– Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from the work surface
– Masks and protect parts that are not to be painted or coated accordingly
– Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface
– Mixes paint according to specifications
– Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired colour
– Surface painting to include using a sprayer or brush, as appropriate
– Inspects painted units for quality of craftsmanship, noting any imperfections like runs, sags and unpainted areas
– Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested
– Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair
– Maintains and wears all appropriate required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer
– Complies with all laws and regulations about paints, thinners, and other hazardous materials and reports and incidents
– Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trades License (Red Seal License (preferred))
