Autobahn Carstar Barrie is hiring for an experienced Paint Technician.

Our growing Collision Centre is looking for a painter who is capable of high-quality refinishing, and knowledge of water-borne paint systems, mixing, tinting, and blending. If you’re a Collision Repair Painter who’s highly skilled at assessing vehicles following body repair to determine the refinishing efforts required and painting/ refinishing the vehicle with great care and attention to detail then send us your application today.

Responsibilities Include:

– Prioritize daily workload to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
– Performs all refinish procedures according to factory specifications.
– Mix paints to match colour specifications or vehicles’ original colours using colour charts and stir and thin the paints.
– Follows OEM standards for blending formulas, topcoat application and curing.
– Sand, mask, clean, and prime vehicles prior to painting.
– Works with the paint team to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
– Maintain all tools and equipment, keep the workspace clean and organized and perform routine maintenance for paint booth and booth filters.
– Utilize all required safety equipment and follow proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA and CARSTAR safety guidelines. Wear and use required safety equipment (respirator, eye, and skin protectors), and handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
– Manage, order, and inventory paint and refinish supplies to meet production needs.
– Maintain acceptable cost per paint labour hour.
– Attend daily release meetings.
– Other duties as assigned.
