The main responsibility of the Service Technician is to repair and perform preventive maintenance of vehicles at the dealership. They conduct emission inspections and run diagnostic tests on the vehicles. Additionally, the Service Technician replaces worn-out components and works on the engines, brakes, steering, and electrical systems of the dealership. They are skilled in diagnosing vehicle problems and providing accurate solutions for the repair or replacement of parts.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine dealership maintenance tasks, which could include oil changes, tire rotations, battery installations, headlight and taillight installations, transmission work/flushes, air conditioner recharges, and front-end alignments

• Conducting diagnostic procedures to identify the cause of vehicles issues and make effective and accurate recommendations

• Conducting necessary repairs and testing vehicles before handing them back to customers

• Inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet provincial requirements for safety and emissions

• Maintaining knowledge of current industry best practices

• Maintaining paperwork and customer records

• Ensuring equipment longevity

• Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
