The role of the Shop Helper is to provide technical support to the staff. This involves operating machinery, arranging equipment, handing tools to mechanics, monitoring supplies, and making necessary basic repairs. They may also perform administrative tasks such as preparing and processing documentation, responding to calls and emails, managing requests, and keeping records of transactions. Communication is key in this position, as the Shop Helper must work closely with staff to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow in the Auto Repair Facility.

Responsibilities include:

• Pick and layout parts for fabricators

• Assist in cleaning steel using sanding pads or grinders, following the guidance of the shop painter and other staff members.

• Maintain clean work areas, which includes (but is not limited to); sweeping up debris picking up garbage, moving materials, rolling up cords, hoses etc

• Sort and count bolts and fasteners for shipping

• Basic hand and power tool knowledge

• Excellent Communication skills

• Must be physically fit and be able to work standing for most of the day
